NightSky Official Site
« on: June 24, 2010, 18:01:26 »
The reports of NightSky's death are greatly exaggerated...

To little or no fanfare, it appears that one Elemental-Labs, Inc. launched the official website for NightSky at http://www.nicalis.com/nightsky/.

According to their Twitter feed at http://twitter.com/elementallabs it launched on June 1st.

I must say, it's pretty slick and and atmospheric :)

The site looks nice, I just hope Nifflas is credited in some way for working on the game.

That is weird that the official site doesn't mention him.  At least the NightSky info page at http://www.nicalis.com/games-2/nightskyt/ credits him.

I miss Nifflas' name there, too, but I must admit the website looks great.

Way too many people here are making this big deal out of wether my name is in every footage/presentation/information page about NS. The IGF builds of NS starts up with "A Nicklas Nygren Game" and I'll be properly credited in the final product too. I know some people e.g. complained that Tyrone was doing that interview instead of me at GDC, when the truth is that I started out making the interview but was too unprepared and couldn't figure out anything to say, so Tyrone who's used to talking to the press took over instead.

And really, just like Nicalis doesn't mention me everytime NS is on the topic, I often forget to mention Chris Schlarb who worked on the game just as hard as me and deserve the same amount of attention. There's no conspiracy here, and it's just easier to say "NightSky" than to everytime say "NightSky produced by Nicalis with music by Chris Schlarb designed by Nicklas Nygren who's Nifflas on the internets".

In the music on the media page, is that a marimba I hear?

When something smells, it's usually my monitor.

I think that's a marimba, yes.
Also, I heard some sounds on the media page similar to KS sounds...
Was that intentional?

At the other hand, a game that says "A Nicklas Nygren game" on startup will definitely count as me getting attention

^ -Just like the old times of 80s computer gaming! Having one's name in the official title or before the title screen is about as much credit as one single person can get in any production?
