Honestly, I doubted the original post's seriousness from this thread's start, and it's completely nonsensical to discuss different theories about what the story behind some scenery of a game is any further. Not that it made any sense in the beginning, but oh well.
You might or might not remember Nifflas once (or more) saying that there often is no "correct" story behind things in his games and that he likes (or doesn't mind) people making up their own version. That, however, doesn't mean it's actually necessary to publicly discuss these ideas. Have fun with them in your own head.
