NightSky / Re: Nightsky History
« on: February 24, 2011, 01:04:00 »
Wait, it's not already written in C++? What the hell did they write it in then, if it functions on both Wii and PC?

The PC version of NightSky was made using MMF2. As for the Wii version, it would probably have to be coded with a programming language like C++, but that code would be specific for the Wii platform.

Your music is very good. My favorite so far is Grin - I like the beginning parts of it.
You seem to have a lot of promise. Keep up the good work! :D

EDIT: Fourths is pretty good too.

Pre-release topics / Re: Object contribution!
« on: December 13, 2010, 06:48:22 »
Sounds interesting. I'll see if I can contribute any objects (if I find anything good in my photos). I feel that it will be great to have the community contribute to this game. :)

You need to download msvcp60.dll (google for it) and place it into ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/system32. That should allow DirectoryPacker.mfx to load, and Knytt Stories will run properly.

As a side note, you may also need to extract levels manually; see here for that.

Creativity Support / Re: GoDaddy?

I don't know much about GoDaddy, but there should be basic website hosting that came with the domain (it has ads, however). Is this what you wanted (to have your website on GoDaddy but without the website builder)?
Otherwise, you'll need to buy hosting either through GoDaddy or another hosting provider, and configure the domain to point to that hosting.

The background is very nice; currently using it at the moment as my desktop wallpaper. I also like the color chosen for that last screenshot.
I hope this level turns out to be a good sequel of An Underwater Adventure. :)

About Nifflas' Website and Forum / Re: Type

I would say that this is more difficult than other Nifflas stuff, although I thought it was an interesting concept.

Nifflas' Sources / Re: DirectoryPacker.mfx Problem
« on: August 01, 2010, 17:31:16 »
Try updating to the latest build (build 249)... build 239 is very old. :P
DirectoryPacker.mfx probably only works with the latest builds.

Collaborations / Re: Within A Knytt Forest (WaKF)

Just played through it, and I thought it looked and felt pretty realistic so far. If I have time, I would also like to work on this (I'll PM you with details also).

Development Showcase / Re: New Song on Youtube!
« on: July 08, 2010, 17:29:28 »
I never understand why people put only music on youtube, but I guess thats just me.

It is a good way to promote music when paired with a slideshow of sorts, although there are other sites which offer features specifically for sharing songs with others.

Creativity Support / Re: Converting MIDI to .ogg?
« on: June 30, 2010, 02:35:02 »
For future use, dBpoweramp might work, since it supports playing back MIDI files (with a codec) and then converting them to a format like .ogg. Keep in mind, though, that there may be slight differences in musical instruments between your computer and the computer where the MIDI file was originally produced.

NightSky / Re: NightSky Official Site

The site looks nice, I just hope Nifflas is credited in some way for working on the game.

This was pretty much discussed before, and the answer generally was "No".

Nice. If it's been downloaded 451 times, I think people do care about it. :P
