Urban Dusk

Well, I'm new here, but I'm not new to Knytt Stories, I've played quite a few very good levels (Trek, The Forever Rain, etc.) and I always enjoyed the atmospheric and exploration-based levels. I recently got some help for using the level editor, and have been working on a level for the past week or so. I'm trying to make a relaxing exploration-type level with multiple endings, a large world, and even a hero vs. villain story for those who enjoy a challenge (I'm thinking about making dungeon-type areas, such as a volcanic cavern, a factory, a temple, and some sort of ghost world as well as exploration areas, such as a city in the sky above the normal city, a forest, and a desert). I'm open to suggestions of other areas, I've already got a few others in my mind.

I'm motivated to get the level done, whether it takes a few weeks or longer. So here's the deal, I'm uploading the most recent update to the archive, I want you guys to tell me how to improve, tell me about any glitches, the music, anything!  I know that there's plenty of room for improvement, just give me some constructive criticism, maybe suggest some tilesets, and hopefully it'll turn out alright, thanks! Also, I'm thinking about adding a few custom songs to the game. I could even try to make some sort of graphic tileset... I don't know how well it would turn out, but what would you think about that?

Also, here's some pictures of the areas I've got going so far... It's kind of bland, but hopefully the areas outside of this will be more scenic and detailed.

Bridge to Urban Dusk

Sea of Forever

Dusk Hill Cavern

Waterfall

There's more, but these are the early areas. I'm almost done with the city at the moment, and after that I'll work on the forest and volcanic cavern.

Not finished yet, just a demo. It's a more current version though.

By the way, I checked out some of your levels, and it seems you've got the hang of making good backgrounds and environmental areas. I think my level is a bit bland. I'm thinking the level will start out kind of humdrum and boring, then once you leave the city, the other areas will be more scenic. I'm kind of testing out making interior areas, and that's not going too well. I may use them from time to time after the city, but for the most part I think I'll avoid worrying about indoor areas too much.

I'm curious, I'm working on a subway currently (I don't know if it'll be some kind of optional level warp station or just there for decoration) and I can't think of a good tileset for it, if anyone has any suggestions for a default one to use or a new one (I'd prefer a tileset with some sort of tunnel for the subway to pass into) I'm all ears. Thanks! I'll see if I can find a decent one, but I"m not sure about it.

Not trying to sound hateful, so please don't take it that way, but for the record, this should be in the Level Release section, not the preview. Any released level can't be posted here, only topics for ideas, pics, etc. for levels.

Not at all! Sorry, I'm not really big on forum stuff, I'm just looking for some criticism... So should I get the topic moved or something? It's more of a demo than a final release... Well, whatever works. Thanks for the heads up though.
