I would guess that they are planets, somewhat transparent planets. That's at least what I believe them to be.

They probably ought to be the shadowside of planets. But in any case its scenery. :)

They looks like black holes

If they were black holes, you wouldn't be able to see anything in the game.
good bye

Or would you? :shifty:
They can still be black holes, if the game doesn't follow conventional physics.

If you say the game doesn't follow conventional physics, then you have to redefine your notion of a black hole. Can't talk about black holes without physics, so that sentence ends up being meaningless. :P

It means it may be true, after you account for the necessary modifications to the definition of a black hole with these physics, as PONTO pointed out.  It, however, does not mean that it must be true.

Incidentally, the ball goes down in the game, implying that the game takes place in a gravity well.

Also, what about those weird little curvy things floating in the background?
good bye

Those are birds.  Time-frozen birds.

Just remember, "Unconventional physics" does NOT equal to "Completely different from conventional physics."
But, consider this: They're decorations.

But they move.

The birds themselves are time-frozen, but they can still drift and rotate through space.  You won't see them flapping their wings or anything though.
