[Enviromental] New level
« on: May 07, 2009, 13:12:57 »
Hey everyone!
I have started a new level. It will have custom graphics and perhaps custom music too.
It wont be released until the new level archive, same goes for Mashu Prapa V.2. Im not using any tilesets
for this level, instead Im going to work with gradients and that stuff. There is no story yet.

I have had many ideas for graphical experimentation like this. I love your style. :^^:
Tell me what format are you using if you are not making tilesets? Are you drawing an almost-transparent line over the background (1% opacity) or taking the "floor" layers and placing them in a tileset like I did with my Tale in the Desert level?

I made a gradient showing tiles just like a tileset then I made the picture with help of the tiles in the gradient so that I later could use invincible tiles in the editor as ground. And I did it in ms.paint, I tried first in gimp with layers but it took longer time and felt more uncomfortable.

Just a suggestion: make the ground a custom object. Anyway, I like the idea.  :)

Actually, this looks good. :o Keep it up!

EDIT: Now that I study it, it looks like you're walking around in a MS Paint drawing instead of a real world (though it isn't real; you want it to look like it isn't. X)).

Agreed, I think it has to do with the streaks around the edge of the ground...

This screen is interesting. I love this scribble style. Well actually I think there may be a perspective problem, for Juni seems to be standing on the background. Nice work anyway, elder

I like the style too, and it's an interesting idea using invisible tiles and just gradients...

Kinda forces you to right angles and 45 degrees for walking though. 9_9
