Did you use the [search]? Didn't you find the [faq] respectively this post?

And Do You Really Think Capitalizing The First Letter Of Every Word Makes Your Text Easier To Read? It doesn't, just so you know.

And. Nope, I Don't Think It Does. I Just Like It.
So, I don't Care what You Think.
Theres No Rule Against It.
If You Don't Like It, Make a Rule.

I found it using the [search] by using the keywords "audio converter". Sometimes using variety helps in getting the best search results. X)

Just to help others out.

I personally use LAME ( http://lame.sourceforge.net/ )
It's a command-line converter, so that can be a downside like it can be an upside.

The downside is that you need to use a command-prompt (such as Windows' cmd.exe or the terminal is any Unix OS ) to use it directly.

The upside is that you can make some nifty scripts to make your life easier to do quick batch encoding with your preferred options.

I recently lost my .sh script (for use in Bash on Linux) so I can't post it here. But with some relatively simple scripting I had a converter that looked inside a "convertme" folder and outputted to a "jobdone" folder.

There are programs out there that offer a GUI to allow a simpler access to the conversion, such as : http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/Audio/Audio-CD-Rippers-Encoders/LameXP.shtml on Windows and http://sourceforge.net/projects/lame-gui/ for linux.

I haven't tried these so if they don't float your boat, try googling for LAME GUI.

<Gaeel> Wait are we really having this conversation?
<Dataflashsabot> I think we might be a figment of Gaeel's twisted imagination...
