Having trouble with a bunch of levels

Hello Forums! I haven't posted anything in a while and I suppose this is a good thing to post about...

Does anyone know/remember this dump of 169 knytt stories levels?

I downloaded the torrent, used Utorrent and all of that... and then, I tried dumping all the levels at once on the worlds folder...
Opened knytt stories, and all the levels are voids!

What am I doing wrong?

I've just downloaded one of the levels with the same program (Let me take you to the beach) and it works fine for me. You should check what's inside the various level subfolders in the Worlds folder: make sure there's at least a Map.bin and a World.ini file, and that both aren't empty (if they are, then the download wasn't completed).

It might depend on how you extracted the stuff from the torrent. Levels need to be in their own folder in the Worlds folder. The "Map.bin" and "World.ini" and possibly subfolders will be there that contain what makes up the level. Something like:

Knytt Stories\Worlds\<Level Folder A>\<level content>
Knytt Stories\Worlds\<Level Folder B>\<level content>
Something like this will never work:

Knytt Stories\Worlds\Extracted Files\<Level Folder A>\<level content>
Knytt Stories\Worlds\Extracted Files\<Level Folder B>\<level content>
If you can, tell us whether the folders are empty, or even in the right place (although it sounds like they might be). It sounds a lot like a bad download, which is possible with so much data. But the position of the files is very important, so it's best to check it first before you bother downloading again.

Bear in mind that half a dozen of the levels are totally non-functional (probably incomplete uninstalls) and some of the others have problems (ranging from inconsequential to near-terminal) aswell.

I'd suggest trying to install and play some one at a time in case KS freaks out when it has to load too many levels or something.

From that, there's not much reason it wouldn't work. Is that level specifically one that doesn't?

I'd suggest trying to install and play some one at a time in case KS freaks out when it has to load too many levels or something.

There's no reason Knytt Stories should fail to load a level properly due to how many you happen to have. That said, it might take a moment to load the level selector or sort them.

No, all of the levels do not work. Thanks for asking though, that might have gotten people confused.

Just bouncing ideas around. Fursik had the same issue earlier this year, and as far as I know no solution was ever found.
