Steam build testing, patch 1
« on: October 08, 2013, 11:09:57 »
Hi!

So, for those of you testing the Steam builds, a patch is up that should fix the cursor bug. It should be downloaded automatically when you start Steam.

Somehow I haven't got my game update yet...
Maybe it needs time to sync all the files between different servers.

I'll try deleting all the game files from Steam menu and re-download.

All good here. No mouse cursor.  Thanks!

Faster loading unless I'm imagining it too?  I had to double check I hadn't moved it to an SSD.

You guys sure? It's about 1 MB, it could have happened when you weren't looking. Also, try 'verify integrity of game cache'.

well, I'm assuming it didn't download, since I can still see the cursor.

Pretty sure because I can see mouse cursor...
and I've tried verifying cache and it says "All files successfully validated" but there's still no update.
Re-downloading didn't bring the update either.

It sounds odd that the problem would be Steam failing to update the game. Maybe the cursor bug is still not 100% fixed, so that it still does show up on some computers.

Win 7 64-bit. Haven't checked Ubuntu yet.

Oops!  Put this in the wrong thread yesterday.  I'll post it here too.

So I've played a considerable amount into Chapter 3, and everything game-wise seems to be working fine, I wouldn't expect it any different.  The cursor is no longer visible, which is good, but now for some reason Alt-Tabbing (or Windowskey-tabbing) doesn't work at all.  Is anyone else also having this problem?

I just tested it on my laptop too and Alt-tabbing worked fine.  I guess it's a computer specific problem.

It's not that big of a deal, but it might be helpful to fix if you have time.

Maybe it's intentional? After all he's put a lot of work into the game, so maybe he doesn't want you to tab out of gaming sessions to look at lolcats or post comments on youtube.

Ah, no, it's not intentional. I'm strongly against putting that kind of restrictions on people. It must be a product of a limitation/problem in one of the libraries the game uses.

Alt-tabbing works very nicely for me. Exactly which version of Windows are you on?

I was mostly joking. I've had that happen to me in a few games as well, but that was Linux and not with KU as far as I can recall.

I'm on Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit, latest version.  Funnily enough, my laptop is running the exact same thing, but it works fine on there.  Is it a problem on my end?  Other programs can alt-tab fine.

To be a bit more specific about the problem, it appears that when you alt-tab, the window looses focus and the cursor is visible but it doesn't let you switch programs and it doesn't let you get back into the game.

P.S. loving the whole game so far!  Very enjoyable and relaxing!
