[Challenge][Normal][Medium] R-Model
« on: September 08, 2013, 00:35:42 »
I am making a level as a few of you know.
So in this thread, my progress I'll show.
It won't be a hard one, you'll soon come to see.
But the jumps and the traps are certainly not easy.
The filesize probably won't be low.

You see, it's full of Objects, both big and small.
I've got so many that it slows to a crawl.
So I broke past the threshold and put in some more.
The animations here are likely not a bore.
Compared to the others, Juni isn't too tall.

So look at my screens and what should it be?
The content is custom, most made by me.
But musical talent is something I lack,
So "borrowing" music is the right track.
Don't worry, it all was free.

Juni's a cyborg--she's on mission.
Though in the beginning she ends up wishin'
That she brought a parachute
Or an umbrella--it's cute.
She's found by an old man fishin.

The doctor, the doctor he'll say
And bring R-Mod with him on his way!
She'll get fixed up and good as new
By a med-borg that was sent by her crew.
She doesn't remember them, anyway!

So after a while of running and such.
She begins to realize so much.
To save the island or her home?
A last refuge of kindess almost gone.
There's lots of endings to touch.

And imensely pretty indeed
But you deserve a good beating
Because that shit is annoying to read

It looks quite nice,
Like fine rice,
A simile somewhat imprecise.

Before your level goes west,
Call to us, the rest,
And we will give your level a test.
Things to remember when writing figures of speech and sound:
The power of poetry comes from the ability to defy logic. Defy logic often.

Use a metaphor and tell us that your lover is the sky. Tell us that your lover is the sky. When you do that, we won't believe you. We won't believe you because saying so makes no sense, but we'll see a meaning. We'll see a meaning.

The other thing is the ability to be remembered. Love anything.

Love anything

Those are awesome screenshots! Especially the first; it looks like she's in some kind of giant engine.
I shall look forward to this; any news on how long it'll be/how long you think it'll take to build?

Yes, I wrote a post that doesn't rhyme.
I've had enough poems to last me a life... span.

Thanks all of you and for playing along.
I know we aren't all obsessed with song.
It should be a few months, give or take.
I still might have obligations to make.
There's no way to do poetry wrong.

Certainly a nice level
I can't help but drivel
I hope it will be nice and long
And packed with very nice songs
image removed, became invalid
Arguing on the internet is like running in the Special Olympics. Even if you win, you're still retarded.

Can't wait for you to be finished and this level to be done
Of all the screens you've posted, my favorite is the first one.

I really like that latest screen you posted! In general, you've got some highly interesting locales going on here.

Um... roasted. Beer.

A portion is finished, enough to play.
If you don't mind some spoilers, today is your day!
One of you send me a message real quick.
I'll send you an alpha in just a tick.
If anyone's up for it, a test is okay.

The "I got no idea.png" screenshot could use some variation.  Don't make the blue lines cover everything, but use empty spaces to give contrast.  You might even add a haze around them so they appear to glow, like in default tileset 63.  Looking good though, still looking forward.  You've a nice style.

They're animated.
And I like that glow idea.
I'm gonna use it.
