Stuck on bluestone quest [Spoilers inside]

As the title indicates I'm stuck on the quest to find the bluestone. I've been running around these tunnels for ages, I've visited every screen and I simply can't figure out how to get the bluestone! The statue seems to be key, obviously it used to point up, or some other direction, but no matter which direction I head in I don't find anything useful! It's driving me crazy! Any pointers?

AFAIR, you need to find a statue with broken hand.

Yes I've found it, but then what?

Keep in mind that the hand is not in its natural position. Where would it point to if it was still intact?
