Love Genesis and song is good 6/10. I am not so much into their career after Duke since most prog-bands went full synth-pop but Genesis is probably the one progrock band who did it right. Though yeah.. Prefer the Peter Gabriel period over the Phil Collins.

It's a very pretty piece with a nice tranquil mood to it. Kinda insubstantial, though. Almost sounds like something I'd hear in Knytt. Does Aphex Twin sound like this often?

I've not listened to a huge amount of Aphex Twin but the two tracks I've heard more often than any others are more.. "meaty" than the content of Drukqs. The tracks I'm thinking of are totally outside the bounds of this thread's rules, though.

Reminds me of the darkness, really. It's the kind of track I'd not switch of in a car but not something I'd listen to deliberately. Maybe I shouldn't be playig this game, really; I like challenging music but I don't really want to inflict most of what I listen to these days (as opposed to what I used to listen to more often) on people out of the blue.
Back to the topic at hand, it's fine as background but lacking any real character or energy that would seriously interest me.

(or if you're feeling brave: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QmwkAEHFB60 - still not my first choice from GFB but it's not got any lyrics, therefore no obscenities)

I picked the first song, full well expecting something that would bore me and that I would not like, but I was pleasantly surprised. I've heard of Bloc Party before, only on /b/ though.  :P2 It's still not exactly my kind of music, but if they're generally like this, I'm sure I wouldn't mind listening to some more songs. (Anything you'd recommend, Widget?) 8/10

As for mine...BRING THE HATE ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111111111111one11111!!!!111eleven111!

I only own Silent Alarm (their first album) which was released just around the time I stopped buying music. I'd recommend that album wholeheartedly but it's one of those... "Two-EPs-shuffled" kinda albums (Manson's Mechanical Animals is always the first example I think of)... there are relatively upbeat, energetic tracks like Banquet (and Helicopter, Like Eating Glass, Price of Gasoline) and then slower, downbeat tracks (almost approaching shoegaze style, like Scarling) like Blue Light, Compliments and Plans.

I hope I haven't put you off too much; it's very well mixed and does hang together as an album if played start-to-finish :P

Come to daddy was a pretty sweet song (and pretty sweet video for it too) but the rest I've heard of him is pretty much crap. This song is no different. Flat and boring 2/10.

That was a very well done, very sad song. The composition of it reminded me of sixties music, somehow. Maybe it was the use of violins?

The second alternative link worked for me. As new wave goes it wasn't bad but, speaking purely for myself, it's not the kinda thing I take much pleasure in listening to. It feels far too monotonous, especially for a track that long. There's nothing in the music that interests me and lyrics aren't really my thing. I prefer the lyrics to be a part of the musicality of the track, not the only significant aspect.

My choice of track this time might just demonstrate how hypocritical I can be when it comes to music but what the heck; no accounting for taste, 'ey :P

I can imagine it as a music  in some slideshow or something, but that's all. It lacks something for me, it feels just like the beginning of the song, before the guitar solos and all the other stuff I like.
6/10
I'll answer with one of my faves.

Ugh, it is impossible for me to take that song seriously nowadays.  :P
It's still a pretty decent pop tune, though! And I do like the back-flips in the video.

Let's answer that meme-y song with another meme-y song!

I quite enjoy this song, although some things about it are pretty cheesy. The chorus is classic of course. Also, the video is quite neat. Probably new and exciting for the time it was made.
