Bug with KS Manager?
« on: April 05, 2009, 21:40:02 »
I have found a very annoying bug with KS manager 1.08, using warps. I was trying to do a right warp, in order to go to y -1 (see screenies), and it just won't work. When I reopen KS manager, it hasn't saved my warp. Is it a bug, or is it me?

Did you click save?
I sure did, both on the manager and the editor

Woah. This is weird. The ini file won't work either. Have you tried re-installing KS?

No, but I'm not sure that's necessary. Perhaps that's just the Ks manager.

I have this problem too, but I kinda prefer to use the ini anyways, so I never bothered looking into it.

Has this happened more often? In fact, I've encountered the same problem just today, but this was the first time, and I have the latest version of the editor (which means: different conditions, same bug). But my level editor is always a little fickle anyway - I often get the message "The editor tried to load an invalid or non-existing level" when testing my level and have to click "save" for five times, and then it works again :P2 Well, to cut a long story short, if this has only happened to you once now, you probably don't have to worry too much about it, it's nothing serious, and putting in the information about the warp again may solve the problem.

Using a right warp with a postive Y coordinate seems to work, the problem only seems to occure with the negative Y coordinate.
Well anyway, I just might work directly on the ini, like Razzorman.

The Manager has always had this bug, and anyone who uses warps is eventually going to run into it. It's just easiest to edit the ini file directly to get past this issue. I've never been able to make the Manager accept Y warp coordinates.

There's no problem with KS or the editor, of course. KS does negative Y warps fine.
good bye

You can tell it's going to do that if, when you click the coordinate box you just modified, the cursor goes to the front. Then, say it's doing that to the exact coordinate box. If you want to get it to work without editing the .ini, delete the number in the relative coordinate box (or the exact box if relative is the one with the promblem), retype it, then save.
