Some 3d art
« on: January 10, 2012, 03:58:45 »
I am aware that I had already created a thread for my other 3d art, but that was a few years ago, and I did not want to bump a thread from last page, that had barely any content in it in the first place.

I have greatly improved my skills at 3d, and I am happy with the results that I am getting now, compared with my old 3d renders, which I didn't really like too much...

There isn't much, but I only chose the best ones I have done, rather than showing all the mediocre stuff I have done :P

I especially like the bunny aswell, it's adorable  :^^: They're all very good, though. The texture on the headphones is very convincing.

Also like the bunny, could be a character on Portal, a bunny core :P
The only one I don't particularly like is the last one, the rock texture doesn't seem right, maybe because of being so perfectly horizontal.

I was like: You like the bunny? I didn't see a bunny...

So I went checking again. Now I'm like: you call that a bunny?

But that aside, yeah its nice. :)

Thanks!

The bunny was based on some concept art from blender cookie, so I can't claim it was my idea.

The picture with the fossil and rock is the oldest of all of these, and as such I wasn't very good at texturing, so I just set the texture to use screen space coordinates, which gives it that perfectly horizontal, as well as 2d look.

Also, the logo is for one of my favorite bands, they make SID metal, metal with a c64 chip  C)

I had not actually previously known about slayradio, but, as I listen to it at the moment, it sounds great!
As the Commodore 64 is a bit before my time, I have not actually heard a lot of the songs from its time, just a few of them. But its amazing how even without any other stimulus, such as a game or video, the songs which were created still stand by themselves as an entertainment as good as the actual production that they came from.  :^^:

My favourite MaSu songs are the "sidology experiments", remixes of songs from C64 games, such as monty on the run (My favourite bit of the song) and bubble bobble.

Edit: Just then sidology experiment 1 started playing on the radio, and I was confused thinking I had accidently pressed play on my music application, but then I realised I didn't even have it open.  :P

:D There are many many great ones. But lets not pollute your topic with slayradio. :)

You should check out one or more of the live shows they give. For exaomple the BBB (usually every wednesday around 20:00 CET) with exception for today. And the Sunday Service (which happens every month or so). You can see when the next show is at the website of slayradio.

Feel free to come to IRC and chat with me about it. :)
