[Challenge/Normal] Super Juniland
« on: July 29, 2011, 17:13:23 »
Super Juniland was started 2 years ago, and finished today at least! No storytelling, just like a retrr-gaming mood, just like my old Knytt 8bits (or the recent/awesome Advanced by SecretGlitch).
At the beginning, you can choose a tint (brow or green) which may cause some flashes between screens; if you think this too anoying, you can choose the "gray/no color" way.

The chiptune song you'll hear during the game is Repeat by SubwaySonicBeat (a talented chiptune artist who was nice enough to authorize me to use his music in my level^^).

Difficulty: normal. Some screens are Hard.
Size: small/normal (80 screens).

Great level! I ran into some problems in the green tint version.
Spoiler: (click to show/hide)

@ortoslon: When you touch the keys the doors open automatically. You don't actually collect them.

That makes 2 of us...

I can press [down] when standing 'on' the key and the ground gives off a flash like a save flash, but that doesn't seem to be doing anything either.

Same in the brown version.

Very nice level. The difficulty is Very Hard. Don't try to turn it into Normal.
x1001y975 - save point is blocked.
x999y979, x1000y979 - one screen from other tints is missing (and egomassive already told about voids on top of these screens).
x996y979 - drops into void to the bottom.

It's great to see you making levels again. I loved Marine and Knytt 8bits. Are these 2 the only old levels of yours?

Yep. I can't do squat when I encounter the key in the grey version either. And the difficulty is anything but "normal"

I can't wait to try this one! I played Marine, Fire God, and the other Gameboy level. I especially enjoyed that one C) Haven't you been gone for a long while? It's nice to see you are still contributing to the KS community.

Since Jerom has been missing for a while and he didn't mind when GrayFace fixed Marine, I have gone ahead and fixed Super Juniland.

Download Super Juniland 1.2Mb

It's a great level, but no matter which screen tint you played with it was impossible to reach the end due to various bugs. I have repaired all the bugs found above that had not been fixed by Jerom. I also deleted the intro and exit cutscenes since they were not modified from the defaults, and therefore not in keeping with the retro look. I have only tested the gray version. If anyone finds a bug, I will fix it unless Jerom comes back and fixes it himself.
