Custom Objects
« on: January 19, 2011, 10:35:04 »
Can anyone point me in the direction of basic steps to creating a custom object out of an image I just made? I've found tutorials but they don't seem to include just the basic first steps. It doesn't need to do anything or be animated or anything like that. Just sit there and look pretty.

Basically you would want to create a custom object animation of just one frame.

To do this, see this page: http://thaiwonders.com/design/14/custom-objects-manual/

Ah okay. Thank you. Should be fine now.

Actually, one question: is it possible to change the symbol for the object as it appears in the editor? This would make it much easier if using multiple objects.

There's no way to change the icon for only one level. but you can change the icons used by the editor in all the levels going to .../Knytt Stories/Data/Objects/Bank255 and changing the icons there

I think Looki's editor mod has an option to display the actual CO instead of the marker (I believe it uses the first frame of the object, but I've never used it).

Thanks. Both those options are really helpful.
