Little bit of help needed in Game Maker
« on: October 01, 2010, 03:39:57 »
I have a few issues with Game Maker, but one that I've having serious trouble solving at the moment is looping music.  I want to loop music so there isn't this horrible pause when it loops.

The problem might be that the sound file is .mp3. Then it will pause before looping. In that case try a different format.

Yeah, I managed to figure that out after looking at the .mp3 file INSTEAD OF the file I was editing after I'd edited it.  I don't understand WHY it does that, though....

That always happens with mp3 files, for me at least.

I wouldn't recommend using GM's built-in sound system.  Use a DLL for audio instead (BASS and fmod are both good choices, and both have a history of being used in GM games).

It might seem like overkill at first, but it'll fix this issue and most of your other sound-related problems.
