I noticed something: object 9 of bank 8 only needs 4 frames, but the instructions state 0-4.

"If a sprite sheet has 4 frames of animation, they are identified as 0-3 (0, 1, 2, 3.)"

Also that might not be the only object with this "issue", unfortunately

You are correct. Internally there's a mixed bag of enumeration from 0 and 1. Native animations start with 1, but the custom animation program extension starts at 0. Anyway, I'll have the correction in the next update. I checked the rest of the decorations and didn't see any mistakes.

It seems solid objects (both invisible and visible ones) don't go well with trigger delete tiles. Sometimes they don't get deleted for some reason

Logically, they aren't all real objects. The deadly objects and the blockers; Juni blocker, creature blocker, bird/fish blocker; those are objects. The collision objects, white shapes with diagonal lines through them, they actually draw a faint blue into the collision layer just like a layer 3 tile. The ghost path object is similar in that it erases the collision mask beneath it.

When I click on the search box, whatever character I type, an S is input and I have to delete it.
This only happens when the search box is the first thing I click on.
It also doesn't happen if I start typing right away without clicking (but I always forget it and instinctively click on the box...)

In the CO tab, Ending Frame defaults to 0 even though the F1 description states "The default value is calculated based on image and frame size."

Fast key presses don't always activate triggers.
The same happens when they are set to Trig on Touch, if you touch them quickly.
Maybe triggers have a slower response time than shifts?

I've been implementing a lot of KS+ things in KS Ex lately. The driving goal has been to play KS+ levels with a ball, but I feel like I'm robbing KS+.

Funny quirk:
Shift A requires a coin. Sign A triggers Shift A. If you don't have a coin nothing happens... until you collect a coin on the same screen, at which point the shift is triggered :) Shifts of multiple letters can be triggered this way and they either can act at once if the requirement is the same (all for the price of 1 coin or whatever they require), or act as soon as their requirements are made (first the cheaper, then the more expensive one).
Could be useful for puzzle levels.

It seems the majority of levels either use underscores or "a single word" in CO names.
Are there any reasons to avoid spaces?
My COs work fine with them.

I've used plenty of spaces in CO names and never had any issues. I'd guess it's just preference.
