[Normal/Environmental] Sahara
« on: March 28, 2009, 08:20:43 »
Here's one of my earlier maps. No custom tilesets or anything, just classic Knytt-style adventuring  ;).

Juni awakes in the middle of the desert, with no recollection of how she got there...
Explore the desert, uncover the mysteries underneath.

Moderately large level, should take 5-10 minutes if you're seasoned.
Hope you like it.

Edit: Added screenshots. Yes, I know "Sahara Desert" is a little redundant.
Edit: update to v1.3. all known bugs fixed.

Kinda reminded me of The Machine. I really liked how the Sahara Underworld part looked.

Bugs:
(x1003y1001) You can enter from the right and see "Follow the ghosts" before you have the eye.
(x988y1000) In the blue area above the hologram there is a wallswim if you jump while heading right.
(x996y1004) In the mines right of the tower there is a wallswim if you jump while heading left.
(x994y1000) With the double and high jump you can reach the void above.
(x1014y1004) Right of the red/black lava area, part of the wall is not solid.

Who?

Found a wallswim.
It' the right passage in the room with the eye, it's two tiles wide, while the passage that leads to it from the other room is one tile wide ;)
Except for the wallswim, the level was pretty good :)

Oh wow. This was like a textbook level. (In a good way) The screens were very nice, and the exploration part was well thought out. Good work. :)
Lurk more.

After ALL THAT, that's the ending?  <_<

It was good though, if confusing.

The ending, if it wasn't clear enough, is...

...At least that's the best I can come up with.  Kind of a tragedy.
So, yes, it is confusing.

one thing though is that sometimes you can walk through an object and sometimes its solid. That might just screw you up :moody:

This is a great level. I still encountered two wall swims.
