Also, give MyPaint a try. Its free and maybe even one of the best tools I've seen so far for using a pen device. (link is up in the topic 3rd or 4th post)

I tried MyPaint when you first recommended in..
I don't really like it all that much.
It has some nice brushes, but that's really it..
