What is this?
« on: March 28, 2009, 00:03:38 »
I've downloaded this and played it but I really want to know...What is it?

Firstly, I have Noooo Idea how to use the level editor (a tutorial would be helpful, it's different from the KS one)
Secondly, why are there so many menus in the main screen and what do each ones do?

Thanks!

Nifflas's original intention for this was to be a Knytt community. He abandoned it after everyone began asking for their own stuff... I think.

Also, here's SiamJai's KE Level Editor manual.

The different selections are the different classes of levels then your own .kexp files

Community isn't the right word.

The intention was to have a knytt environment where users can add to the world and such creating the largest world possible.

The menus, lets do this:
Normal= Im guessing finished levels
Experimental= Umm... would it be that your experimenting with tilesets
Other= well... other  XD

Really knytt experiment is bragging rights, the main aim sort of is to explore and find gold coins.

Thats all i know

Except that if you open the settings file (can't remember which one) you can edit how many coins you have. I think I have 900 or so...
Code: [Select]
<Gaeel> I love you Dataflashsabot!
<Dataflashsabot> I love you too Gaeel!
<Gaeel> Wait are we really having this conversation?
<Dataflashsabot> I think we might be a figment of Gaeel's twisted imagination...

Which version did you download? As far as I know, the manual that Purple Pineapple uploaded is included in the current KE download. :)

is there a more up to date version?

I'm able to figure everything out, it just seems a little dated

Maybe Knytt Experiment would be more fun if a multiplayer feature was added to it? Or a high score board, at least, that can be updated when connected to the internet (hopefully, no one would cheat, right, Gaeel?)

Knytt Experiment has a definite (though changing) cap on scores, so a high score board would be pretty pointless.
good bye
