An interesting site for theming areas in levels
« on: July 19, 2010, 04:17:09 »
This website creates random place names intended for use in fantasy novels or RPGs, but if you set it to landforms, it can come up with some interesting combinations that make for a refreshingly new type of level.
If someone could make a short level involving 10 random landforms that they liked, it would be a really neat level *hint*. Anyway, check it out.

Just tried it, and yep, it's pretty good in coming up with imaginative place names. Thanks for sharing! :)

One caveat, though: if anyone plans to use this, make sure you run the names through a spell-checker. During the first two selections, I found two grammar mistakes already; "Monastary" instead of monastery and "Ziggarut" instead of ziggurat. There are likely more.

Just gives me a 403 Forbidden error.  It worked yesterday, however.

So what do you guys think of it? For some reason it pushes all of my creative buttons and makes me want to make something with it.
