Shifting Not Shifting!
« on: July 03, 2010, 03:37:07 »
I'm working on a KS Project. Now, for some really, really, really, oh-so-dumb reason, the almighty rulers of KS Level Making decided to put me in a Shift Rut. Whenever I enter the shift, instead of taking me to where I specified to to go to, it puts me back to my testing position. I checked the coordinates three times. I don't know what's wrong, and oh, here are the settings.

Absolute Target
Invisible
Shift On Touch

Target X - 1008, Target Y - 1002
Abs. Pos X - 6, Abs. Pos Y - 8
Shift Type - Spot
Play Cutscene - teleport (Just a little text-only teleport. Nothing special)
Sound Effect - Electronic
Flag On - (Item Key blue)

Please help me!
Whrrrrr ....

My Knytt Levels:
Eos [WIP]
VR [Remake IP, WIP]
The Lobby [KSO-Specific, WIP]

You must put the shift to autosave the game, because to trigger a cutscene KS resets the level to the last save position.
EDIT: So this is how PP explains it:
first goes to a different frame in the application without saving Juni's location
then shows some images/sound
then optionally saves the player location to new coordinates
then goes back to the game frame, and reloads from the save position (can be changed by previous action)

Or perhaps my explaination helps you understand better:

A cutscene triggers a respawn, so if you shift somewhere, take away powers, trigger a cutscene, you'll be ensured that the player respawns without the umbrella.

What does a cutscene you may ask?

* It first kills the player,
* then shows some images/sound,
* then optionally saves the player location to new coordinates,
* then respawns at last save location (previous action can move the player)
