I remember I started an area on this, but ended up abandoning it because I couldn't draw a stair railing.

This is a nifty idea.  I may throw in later, but not now.

However, does Shreep's home mess cause anyone else to crash?  Everyone e'se was fine, but Shreep kills KS and robs it of it's lunch money.

I will take a look at that sometime.

Yeah, there is one screen in Shreep's home that crashes the game. It also crashes the game if you try and look at the screen in the level editor. I'd accept it as a harmless joke if it wasn't for the annoying fact that the warp that takes you to the crash screen auto-saves.

Does my area have to be just the inside of an existing house? Or could I make an area to put it in? Could I add some land to go right of the right-most house on the map?
