[challenge] Paradise Last
« on: March 22, 2009, 22:33:12 »
this level never made it out of the beta levels section on the forum that fell apart but its a totally finished level. Paradise Last is not made by me but by Johnny Chthonic. Its not an easy level by any means, I'd say somewhere between hard and very hard. all of the graphics in the level are custom and the soundtrack was gathered and the permissions given to me(except for the lifescapes songs) if you own any cds by lifescapes the music is free to use.

This level isn't finished. :/ If you look at the old topic, you see things like

Quote from: Johnny Chthonic
Holy crap it's done. Kind of. It's starting to be done. I could always (and very likely will) add to it, but it is playable. It has a beginning and end.

Current Version: Open Beta v.92

Currently Working On: Bugfixes & Touch-ups, Story

12/22/08: Welp, it's been more than a year since I started working on this thing. Might as well try and finish it, right? :3 Going to work on bugfixing, release the level, and then finish the secret area in an update if I feel like it.

The level is a playable (winnable) beta level, but it isn't finished. There are still bugs, and the story is a bit of a mess.
good bye

That screenie looks like... oh. It's a jpeg.
You do realize you posted a picture of an SGE?

Now, the actual level. It's not very good. I have no idea what to do.
Lurk more.

I believe the alleged SGE was posted on the old forum, and Johnny said it was intentional.

You're supposed to go down, then go east, then continue to go east for the rest of the level, basically. You also need to find some secrets in order to get the best ending you can, but they're basically impossible to find without either playing through the level more than once or cheating. (If I recall, the location of one secret is hinted at, one is in almost plain sight, one is in a random place you might never look, one is in a place it wouldn't actually fit in reality, etc, etc.)
good bye

If it's not finished then this is why we need the beta/easy/normal/hard/very hard/lunatic etc subforums back! The mods are being WAAAAY too pushy with INSISTING that deleting those forums is the "new way" when in reality it's a very good organization system. Please, just use some common sense and just restore it back to the way it was before.

NO.
This has nothing to do with being ignorant to common sense or being pushy. It's NOT that we're "insisting that deleting those forums is a 'new way'" while before it was "very good".
The way it was can only be called a somewhat sufficient organisation system.
We are aware that currently, with there being no organisation system at all, it's a bit of a mess. But that is GOING TO CHANGE, and the "somewhat sufficient" system is being replaced. Not merely deleted. I thought that would be clear to everybody by now. <_<

are you annoyed Paula  X)
Seriously this temporary forums is kind of ishy and to post betas here, well, this forum is being deleted soon enough...
I was never in favour of this temporary forums.

nevermind that, I'm wondering why you are posting this level here James.
Johny never said he wanted his beta here anyways and the reason for the temporary forums was so the author could get ideas on his/her unfinished level, not so you could :s.

Usually I wouldn't post in a dead topic, but this level seems epic and huge, and I want to beat it, but I'm stuck. I just beat the forgotten tower, and nothing has changed. I don't know where to go next. Help?

Check out my tilesets!

So what's so bad about the JPEG or the SGE?
