Okay, let's do this. Here's a nice shot of the New Year's dinner me and my friends prepared:

I spy with my little eye... something beginning with "C"!

Good luck :)

Cream cheese?
Many a hand has scaled the grand old face of the plateau,
Some belong to strangers and some to folks you know,
Holy ghosts and talk show hosts are planted in the sand,
To beautify the foothills and shake the many hands.

I bet you only say that because of the lack of fries :P   BTW, no chicken in there.

First clue: it's edible, it's on a plate and it's not meat.

Caviar? Does that count as a meat? I don't even know. I don't think it does. Is it even caviar in the picture? I bet it is. You must be quite wealthy. I had caviar once. It was salty.

Bingo! :D  Yes, there is some caviar on top of those little salmon "canapés" (also starting with "C"... that was going to be the second hint). And you're right, it isn't meat. It's fish roe (little fish eggs). Also, I'm not really wealthy... there are some very high-quality varieties of caviar that are REALLY expensive, but the one we bought for that dinner wasn't one of those :P  And finally, yes, it tastes quite salty. Truth is, I hardly ever eat it.

Anyway, enough of the random boring trivia. It's your turn, Gorfinhofin :)

It flies from bough to bough.
It nestles in the rhubarb tree,
and Whistles like a cow.
