Pumpkinbot's Motivational Posters (Updated 4-3-09)
« on: March 20, 2009, 22:24:52 »
Yeah, why not? :P I've only made two, but if you want a specific one, post. It can be Motivational, or De-motivational. (And yes, the bugbear one was made for Gorfinhofin. :) A smaller version is in his avatar, currently.)

Quite nice as ideas, but I'm highly tempted to nitpick and shall do so. :)
Spoiler: Nitpick. (click to show/hide)
Although, the largest gripe is the usage of "Your" instead of "You're". :P
And excessive jpeg-compression on the bugbear. Cleaning that up should be no problem though. :)

(Or maybe I'm just looking too deep into this. C)p)

Aren't these de-motivational posters?

They're neither motivational nor demotivational, but simply use the format for parody.
good bye

Well, the joke motivational posters are called by some "de-motivational posters." :P

And J, when you say "you're doing it wrong," it's supposed to look illiterate, so I put "Your doin' it wrong!" Like, nobody posts, "I am firing my laser." They post, "IMMA FIRIN' MAH LAZAR!" *shot*

Also, I might use your font suggestion. And I got Bugbear from Gorfinhofin's Youtube page.

As far as I know, the term "demotivational poster" originates with Despair.com, which produces posters that make an extremely cynical comment entirely at odds with typical motivational posters, supposedly intended to de-motivate a person.

Posters like these, which are simply absurdist, and make no real satirical commentary, can't really be called "demotivational" except in the sense that they are at least partially inspired by those posters produced by Despair.com.

Also, someone truly illiterate wouldn't put the apostrophe at the end of a word like "doin" in place of "g"; doing so indicates active knowledge of the misspelling. 9_9

Ah, well...I don't usually call them "de-motivational posters." I just did that so people won't think I'm making those boring ones you see in your school office or a doctor's office. ^_^;

Does it seriously need changing that bad? X)

EDIT: I thought about what you said about the font, J, and I'm gonna stick to the default one unless someone requests a different one.

I think they work well with however You want to do it.  If someone requests something different, do it that way, but if you are making certain ones that you want to make, make them to please you more than others :)  People will nit pick, but oh well, they can make their own :)

I like the carpool and AAA! ones. I don't really get the bugbear one, though I know it's from this online RPG or something.

Anyway, good job!  8)

Actually, it's for Gorfinhofin. All of hhis avatars has his bugbear in a different situation, and his personal text says, "My bugbear would eat you, but *excuse*." I had an idea to make a motivational poster out of it. :3

@Dragon MC: When speaking AAAAAA!, it needs to end in an "!" And the language is 6 A's and an !.

Sorry for the double-post, but I just got through reading It by Stephen King, so I had to make this one. *points to Skateboard Fail*
