I know that only color was required, but I'm ordering them in different ways for fun.

By color:
Most :a9: :a3: :a4: :a8: :a6: :a7: :a5: :a0: :a1: :a2: Least

By abilities:
Most :a5: :a9: :a6: :a8: :a0: :a3: :a7: :a4: :a1: :a2: Least

By sound:
Most :a6: :a9: :a5: :a3: :a7: :a0: :a8: :a2: :a4: :a1: Least

Lots of people seem to hate the normal ball. :P

Going by youfflean logic, here's my top 10 of the three things.

By color:
Most  :a3: :a4: :a5: :a7: :a8: :a0: :a9: :a1: :a2: :a6: Least

By abilities:
Most  :a7: :a3: :a4: :a1: :a2: :a6: :a8: :a9: :a0: :a5: Least

By sound:
Most  :a3: :a9: :a0: :a7: :a1: :a6: :a8: :a5: :a4: :a2: Least
I guess people are going to highly disagree with my mixed results.  I love iron's "Compact" Attitude, whereas I can't really be food as the tangerineball (ball 7).  I kinda despise purple in general, not fond of breaky nature, and don't find anything new about ball 2.

Well, this sure has strayed from the original intention: favorite WaDF (not WaDF2) balls by color...
but, who cares?

Alright, my favorite balls by color: WaDF:  its a tie between:  :a9: & :a7:
WaDF2:  another tie, this time betwee: :w6:& :w7:

Sound: WaDF:  :a9:
WaDf2:  :w6:

And, to finish, abilities: WaDf:  :a0: (I love the freedom to fly...)
WaDF2:  :w6:

Most of these, however, were pretty close...

Actually there aren't any "extra" ball smileys. There are the ten balls from WaDF, the ten from WaDF2, and then purple_ball with a snorkel.
