Music for your own levels...
« on: January 28, 2010, 05:40:53 »
Is ogg the only type of file available for use in the game, and if so how would i go about turning an mp4 or mp3 into an ogg?
Many a hand has scaled the grand old face of the plateau,
Some belong to strangers and some to folks you know,
Holy ghosts and talk show hosts are planted in the sand,
To beautify the foothills and shake the many hands.

Yes, you can only use OGG. To turn and MP4 or MP3 to OGG, I use dbPoweramp. Google it and install that and the OGG codec and whatever codecs you need. I think the program itself comes with MP3, though.
A God, a Messiah, an Angel, a King, a Prince, and an All Terrain Vehicle.

If anyone has VLC, which is probably many of you, that converts to OGG as well. Just open up the file you want to convert, go to  Media > Convert/Save, and select OGG from the list.

let's say someone covers a popular song and records it, then lets people use it for their own purposes. would i be able to use that without the rights of the original composer?

Only if said coverer has the permission from the artist of said popular song, so probably not.

Nice idea, but that won't work.
