[Normal, Challenge] A Knytt in Time
« on: December 29, 2009, 17:53:54 »
Hi. I just joined the forum, but I've been working on a level for over a year. This level has typical KS themes; a deadly machine, an environmental duality. I feel it's ready for release, but I want some beta testers from the community to go over it first. I also need to make sure I have all the approvals I need for tileset adjustments. This project began as a default-tilesets-only level, and ended very far from there.

Without further ado, the previews:

This level has been released. See this topic in the temporary release forum.

Looks great! Can't wait! Very impressive how you achieved such a unified look while still using (tweaked) existing tilesets; also, nice work on the backgrounds!

Sadly, I don't have enough spare time to be a beta tester.

Terrific screenshots. I'd love to help with testing, but I've got to mention that I never beta tested anything before, so you may want someone more experienced.

I don't mind if you're inexperienced, so am I. We have to start somewhere.

Looks great! Unfortunately, I'm already beta-testing two other levels.
Lurk more.

I've worked for Amaze Entertainment doing test work for 2 years (the other 2 I did scripting, coding, etc.)
If anyone needs a tester I can provide excellent feedback that could benefit your project  :^^:

Let me know, Ego

I'd absolutely love to beta test, I haven't done it before but I've played a lot of levels

Here is the intro scene. There are 8 scenes like this in the game, and I'm adding 1 or 2 more scenes at the advise of my beta testers. The new scene(s) are going to give players more direction and purpose. Once, I add the new scenes I'd like to have some more testers, so I can get first impressions with the additional content.

Very nice artwork, fits the style well.  ;)

I also love how the Grandma is like "yeah, whatever, go save the world and stuff or whatever you kids do these days"

Knytt Stories: a Luddite's platformer. ;-) (Hey, Juni is forever switching off evil machines, isn't she? John Connor would love her, too. *g*)

Really looking forward to this level!

I was hoping to release this month, but I've hit a snag. The level relies heavily on a modified version of NeonPsy's Cave Thing. I need to ask his permission for this. He is nowhere to be found. The tileset in question was 50% remade already. I guess I'm going to have to make that 100%.

That's a shame. But I thought permission was not required to use other people's tilesets? Good thing I've only used standard tiles in my levels...  O_o
