Settings.ini adjustments
« on: February 17, 2009, 16:27:43 »
This has been adapted by Chironex from the old old forum. Seemed worth to be adapted anew. X)

Here are changes you can make in settings.ini to change the Knytt physics:

1: The hang glider
[Secrets]
Extra=Hang Glider

Let you glide through the air. Jumping and moving are harder.

2: The balloon
[Secrets]
Extra=Balloon

Greatly reduces gravity, but makes it harder to accelerate.

3: Physics mods
[Physics]
Max X Velocity=0
Max Y Velocity=0
X Acceleration=0
X Deacceleration=0
Gravity=0
Jump strenght=0
Jump hold strenght=0

Lets you change physical constants in the game. Replacing 0 with any other amount adds that to the normal value of the constant.
Note the misspelling "strenght". Yes, you must still spell that incorrectly in the same way to get the value to work.

If you set the physics like this:
[Physics]
Max X Velocity=5000
Max Y Velocity=5000
X Acceleration=5000
X Deacceleration=5000
Gravity=0
Jump strenght=5000
Jump hold strenght=5000
Crazy things happen when you move or jump! Knytt (Is that it's name?) goes super fast! XD I really enjoy the game more when I use cheats so I can move faster and jump infinitely.

Check out my tilesets!

 XD Set gravity to 5000, everything else to zero... it's pretty funny!
Oh, is there anything like this for any of the other games?

Or, try this:
Max X Velocity=500000
Max Y Velocity=500000
X Acceleration=500000
X Deacceleration=500000
Gravity=0
Jump strenght=500000
Jump hold strenght=500000

Went from instructions to... farthest screen! ... in a few leaps...
went through walls!

Edit: not smart... Got stuck in rooms with no exit, managed to disappear from the screen and not appear...

Try setting negative gravity! when you hold s, it seems you go up.

Think I even found a void screen...

Or, try this:
Max X Velocity=500000
Max Y Velocity=500000
X Acceleration=500000
X Deacceleration=500000
Gravity=0
Jump strenght=500000
Jump hold strenght=500000
That is INSANE! :crazy: If you tap the jump button, you go up and won't come back down. If you get stuck in a wall, wallswimming works the same way as in KS.

Here's my go at it:

Max X Velocity=50000
Max Y Velocity=-200
X Deacceleration=-50
Gravity=-40
Jump strenght=-300
Jump hold strenght=-30
Lurk more.

Is there an area made specifically for cheaters??? Found an area
Spoiler: (click to show/hide)
could never get past it at normal speed...

Edit: nevermind, got past it with (fairly) normal settings.

[mod]whoops, that's actually a secret you can get to and past "normally" ;) (added spoiler tags)[/mod]

Edit: Eh he he... sorry... I'll try to remember spoilers next time.

I played around with the physics for awhile, and this is what I came up with.
I present, Knytt: Super-fast jumpless sliding edition! :nuts:
Max X Velocity=1500
Max Y Velocity=-0
X Deacceleration=-350
Gravity=0
Jump strenght=-100000000000
Jump hold strenght=0

Well, the physics settings weren't in the ini. when I first opened it, so just delete them.

Here are the platfrom movement stuff for whom it may concern:

Max X Velocity=250
Max Y Velocity=400
X Acceleration=100
X Deacceleration=50
Gravity=40
Jump strenght=500
Jump hold strenght=12

Thus, to set everything 0 do this:

Max X Velocity=-250
Max Y Velocity=-400
X Acceleration=-100
X Deacceleration=-50
Gravity=-40
Jump strenght=-500
Jump hold strenght=-12
Lurk more.

If anyone decides that they're tired of setting physics values to ridiculous numbers and wants to just play the game normally again, just delete the physics values altogether; any that aren't included will be default.  (Similarily, you can reset everything to default and lose the unlockables by outright deleting Settings.ini.)

I don't think he was paying very much attention at the time... "the the" and a statement that appears to make no sense... maybe he could explain it to us?
