I think this is really just a variation on the "Which is heavier, a pound of bricks or a pound of feathers?" riddle. If thats the case, they're both equal.
Yes it's a variation, but they aren't equal.

Amounts of substances imply volume, although maybe that's not so clear.

Purple Pinapple is totally right. Have a jumper baked into a rissole.

No I'm not. I stated 1342 under the assumption that every element has atomic weight 1. :P

It would actually be iron with 55.8 versus feather with approximately 8803

EDIT: 8. A yard(stick)

Its new riddle time!

A young peasant wanted to marry the king's daughter. The king didn't like the idea of his daughter marrying a peasant, but he wanted to appear fair in front of his subjects. The king said he would put two pieces of paper into a hat, one reading EXILE and the other reading MARRIAGE. You know why. Later that day, the peasant overheard the king saying both pieces of paper would read EXILE, thus ensuring that the peasant would be out of his way for good. The peasant remained undaunted and, as arranged, arrived at the king's court where a large crowd gathered for the big event. The peasant then did something that assured him the hand of the king's daughter. What did he do?

The correct answer was:
The peasant picked one of the pieces of paper and tore it up. He then asked the king to show him the other piece of paper which, of course, said EXILE. The king, not wishing to appear fraudulent in front of his subjects, granted that the piece of paper the peasant had picked must have said MARRIAGE.

I got the riddle and answer here.

Purple Pineapple wins! Anyone feel free to post a new riddle!

Yeah, i KNOW he just said
He ate the first paper he pulled.
but he was pretty much close to it so i know what he meant.

Here is a new riddle. This is kinda universal, but it requires some math.

If a third of six is 3, what is half of 20?
Ah, look at all the lonely people.
