My level is not finished yet. I'm going to try and finish it before the end of the day, but my track record for finishing projects is pretty bad (hence I have only one released level which you can complete by holding the right key).

I thought it was a great idea for a competition. I had a great idea for a level too, but I told myself that I couldn't start any new levels until I finished Shipwrecked.

I still intend to finish and post my level, I just suck at deadlines. <_<

You. Finish Shipwrecked.

And you. If you finish a level for this contest, I would love to see it (I may even give you a prise, despite it being over.)

I had an idea for a contest: surprise/plot twist.

The idea would be to make a level with at least 1 surprise/plot twist, with bonus points for extra ones.
By surprise/plot twist I mean anything where you convince the player one thing is going to happen, and then something different happens.  This could be going to shut the Machine off only to find it is destroyed, and evidence leads to something else sucking life, or starting in a dessert looking for water, only to find the dessert is encased in glass in the middle of a rain forest.

This gives me an idea 8D

What would the deadline be?

We could start off with the standard 2 weeks... or lets just say the end of the month, the 31st.

If people want to do this, I could write up the score system...

I think we should maybe do a public vote at least as a part of the decision of who wins :shifty:

Public vote is a great idea, since I didn't win the right to choose.

I'll suggest something like this:

20 points aesthetics - gotta look good.
10 points flawless - no swims, purple screens, etc.
10 points for first 2 surprises.
5 points for additional surprises.

Anything else?

This is my idea for a knytt stories level competition. Its based more on difficulty and gameplay than scenery.

My idea for a level competition: Trials/Different Areas Competition

KS Level Competition
Examples: Levels like Safety and Chamber of Trials
You must make a level with 3-5 big areas, The next area needing a key
from the current area. The end of the area can either be the last
area or have a seperate exit which needs a key from the last area.

Difficulty Factor: The next area should be harder than the last.
It can be any difficulty level as long as it follows this
guideline.

Environment: The majority of this category will be judged by the
quality of the environment, This won't affect much though.
2 Bonus Points: Either make the tilesets based on the color of
the key, It doesn't have to be the entire area but the area's
entrance and key shrine or make the area's themes by the following

Red: Fire
Yellow: Earth or Wind
Blue: Water or Ice
Purple: Wind or The Weird Unknown
NOTE: Don't use the area theme as wind twice, Opposing this will
give you a slim chance of getting bonus points.

Music: Does it fit with the area, I would recommend using custom
music for this but props to you if you manage to do this with the
default music.

Storyline: This won't count for much points but you should
give a storyline at the least.

Did i like the level: Do i find the level amusing, Do i find it
fun. This won't count for much points though.

The Deadline would be...
August 7th... 3 week Deadline

EXCEPTIONS:
It will be July 31st if everybody is done
It will be August 14th if someone needs an extension.
