I wouldn't say mspaint is perfect for pixel art.  Its bare-bones basic interface leaves a little to be desired.  A program I think is perfect for pixel art is GraphicsGale Free Edition.  The right click is an eye-drop, which I think is an extremely easy and useful tool.  Basically everything else is simple and easy to tweak too.

That's why I like the MMF sprite sheet editor. :)

True (I now use GraphicsGale 'cause Windows 7's Paint is now overly complicated), but I used to make all of my pixel art on MSPaint 'cause it was very easy to use. :)

I say just go with what you're comfortable with, whether it be MSPaint, Gimp, GraphicsGale, etc.

What are those?  I like them, they sort of remind me of crazybones (if you know what those are).  This has a  half-pixel-art-half-by-hand kinda feeling to it.

New pixel art style?  :) it's just simple pixel art. Thick brush outlining and AA, nothing new with those things. And err... I don't know what they are, just simple doodles with no name.
