NESgamer190's tilesets
« on: September 11, 2009, 00:44:29 »
Well, since I've seen several tilesets being put here, I figured I should bring about a set of my own, but so far, I've only one tileset to bring, and it's not overly versatile.
Tilesets so far:

I really have nothing going for me for creative signatures.

You have lotsa tilesets NES. show us them. Show us your tilesets! The tilesets! TILESETS!
I suppose I can go ahead and scrounge up the old tilesets if that is what you are requesting.

Apologies about a double post and thread necromancery, but I have managed to brew up a (hopefully) better tileset for you people to utilize.

As usual, I probably sound like a jerk, but you could at least actually put some effort into making the tiles not look like crap when you scale them up.

I'm pretty sure it was done like that on purpose.

Agreed.  Come to think of it, I don't ever remember TVs having crisp and well-defined pixels back in the 16-bit or 8-bit era.  Weren't pixels were a little fuzzy around the edges?

Not to say that the blur effect isn't ugly.  It is.  But it could very well be intentional, since it does simulate what TV did to consoles.

Isn't there something like Knyttlevels for tilesets? I got a few great tilesets from that, back when I thought I could actually make a KS level. You know, before the forum crash. He probably posted his tilesets there. I'm too lazy to look for the site, though, so could someone find me a link?

EDIT: This is just asking for a 'Let me Google that for you', isn't it?

Nah, there's no such thing.  You just have to put them in the Development Showcase like everyone else.

Well folks, I've decided to get off my rump and pull out three (Yes, only three) Tilesets that existed before the forum blammo, mainly due to most of my tilesets before then not really having any work done well.  (For those wondering if I will post screenies of how tilesets work, I'm afraid I am uable to do so, namely out of laziness.  X( )

I would love to see sample screens using those tilesets.

EDIT: Ooops, didn't notice the timestamp.  Must be that midnight daze; it's 1:43 AM and I'm awake.
