Your favorite Firefox add-ons

We all know that firefox is the best browser. Why? Well its fast, but mostly because it has many useful add-ons, from themes to organizers to gadgets. Whats your favorite Firefox add-on? (add link)  Here are some of mine:

For blocking ads: Adblock Plus

Seems like a bookmark organizer, but is much, much more. X marks

Makes your scrolling smooth. Really cool add-on  ;) Yet another smooth scrolling

Organizes your downloads. Handy.  :) Download statusbar

More like a theme. Just try it! Personas for Firefox 1.2.2

Whats your favorite?  :D

on xp, firefox takes about an hour and a half to start up (exaggeration, but kinda true), and it's slow when it's running.
google chrome is faster, simple yet useful if you know how to use it, and better looking (i know firefox has themes, but none of them are as cool as chrome).
firefox is versatile, but takes up a ton of RAM and when loaded up with many addons, often has a ton of errors.
i've crashed firefox hundreds of times, but never had any problems with chrome.
maybe thats just mine though.

WOT (World of Trust). Shows little icons and warns you if you're entering a poorly rated site.
AnyColor. Really nice interface changer.
Twitterfox for my tweets.
Statusbar Calculator. Awesome little tool that fits at the bottom, great for quick calculations.
Fission puts your loader into the URL bar. It's just really cool.

In my experience Firefox never takes up very much RAM at all (unless it is, for example, running a huge Flash game, which is hardly Firefox's fault), and only crashes when I do something stupid and avoidable.

Chrome can be faster, but only if you have a multi-core processor, since Chrome runs each tab as a separate process or something.


Anyway, I recommend NoScript, which stops Java, Flash, etc from running on a web page without your permission. It can take a little while to get used to at first, but in the long run it's a good thing.

I still think that Opera beats FireFox in many ways. Its much faster, very good display of pages, mouse gestures, great interface, less prone to vulnerabilities (something even Firefox has nowadays).


So I think its very very wrong to state that firefox is the best, cus its clearly not! You may like it alot, and you still may ask what addins people use, but don't claim it to be the best, or you'll get yourself into a browserwar, and that means a lock on the topic for off-topicness.

Lets discuss the matter at hands: Favorite Firefox addins.

I use Firefox on mac, which has most of those things built-in, my favourite being the apocolypse skin (inverted colours)

I barely use any add-ons at all. However, iMacros, and the any of the dictionaries are pretty good.
