I attach a counterweight with negative mass to send your weight hurtling away from anything with gravity. I don't want to participate in this game, but this is a severely common misconception that annoys me to no end. Gravity does not magically vanish in space, nor does it rely on an atmosphere to exist, as is evident by the fact that celestial objects are subject to gravity despite being in space.

Exactly!  I dislike it when people don't recognize the necessity to have nitrogen while creating artificial gravity.

I point out that it is unknown if a black hole actually can destroy. The black hole implodes randomly. There's either no object, or the object is my mother, since she was the one who told me that logic. Let's stick with the 'mother'-ish object.
