[Environmental]Bergsteigung Expanded
« on: August 22, 2009, 01:09:59 »
As I told on the released level board for Bergsteigung,  I've started expanding this in a larger level.

The later is here: http://nifflas.ni2.se/forum/index.php?topic=692.msg6231#msg6231

Here's the plot:

Juni lives in a valley village, surrounded by high peaks, among which the Bettler, the highest of all, which threatening shadow is lying over the valley.

The villagers live in the fear of these moutains, with all the legends narrated about them.

On a sunny day of June, three strangers arrive.
They want to climb on the very top of the Bettler, and are asking for a local knytt to guide them.
Everyone shivers:" Climbing up the Bettler, who could do such a terrible thing? These strangers are fools!"  However, in exchange of a heavy purse of gold, the strangers convince Peter, a young smart tough guy, who has a good knowledge of moutain dangers, to guide them to the Bettler.

The next day, at dawn, the four knytts leave, for the mountain tops.

Four weeks later, in the middle of July, they haven't returned yet. Juni proposes herself to make a rescue mission to the snowy tops.

OMG.

The last screenshot, especially, killed me dead.

ETA: This post was made when the third screenshot was the last one. So it's the forest screenshot that killed me dead. I really have a thing for convincingly done forests in KS.

Not that the *new* last screenshot isn't gorgeous also...

How did I miss this topic?  These would have to be among the most amazing screenshots I've ever seen.  I do hope, however, that this does not fall prey to the pit of Real Life that swallows up awesome unfinished KS levels.  (Demon Contract, anyone?  Resolution?)

Wow, the forest screen and the mountain screen look even better than the original level. Who could've thought it was possible! I really hope you finish this.
