MS Paint lacks the following features that I consider
essential:
-Transparency of any kind.
-Any sort of proper palette support. If you save an image as, say, a GIF (which is 256 colors) or a 256-color bitmap (which is 256 colors), it converts your image to use its built-in palette -
which is sixteen colors.
-Its JPEG compression is utterly and completely screwed up and useless.
-More than three undos!
I draw in MS Paint for one simple reason: to make things look like they were drawn in MS Paint.
Now, MS Paint
can be used to make something that looks good. A Google Image Search will confirm this.
But, by the same token, a hex editor could be used to make something that looks good.
I would never advise anyone to use Paint for anything, let alone a KS tileset.
But for the love of GIMP, filters and all that is holy, can we
get back on topic?
(Incidentally, MS Paint isn't even on my computer anymore, on account of me using Linux.)
