Trust me, it is. This following is not a proof, in any mathematical sence. But it does help people understand that this is the case:

1/3 = 0.3333...
2/3 = 0.6666...
3/3 = 0.9999... = 1

And you can proove it, I've seen it done and can do it myself.

10x = 9.99999
x = .999999999
10x - x= 9x
9.99999999 -.9999999 =9x
9=9x
1=x
.999999999=1
