[SPOILERT] Strange hidden creature in underground Hidden?

Today I was chatting with someone on Skype while he was playing WaDF, and at some point he sent me a picture of a strange creature he had discovered in underground Hidden.
(creature is circled in red)

I couldn't see the creature at all, so I copied it to Photoshop and performed Auto Levels on it...

What have you hidden there for us, Niff?

you probably could have found it with brightness and contrast tweaking...
as for what it is, it's probably just a random atmospheric thing

Its not actually a creature. I think its supposed to be a puff of smoke or something like that.
If you look around, there are similar dots all over the place, so its not really anything secret.

There was a topic just like this before, pretty much. But nobody had tried fiddling with the image. Yeah, there's a bunch of those that appear all over. They're just little wispy things to add atmosphere.

I have always thought of that as some sort of bug related to the particle effect that makes up the little star's trail.

I noticed while hovering horizontally back and forth through the last sky section (as you do) that when you move between screens having left a horizontal line, the dots appear in line with your line on the next screen. So yeah, probably a particle effect glitch  I just like making PONTO more right.

I should explore this more, it's fun.
