About the game & what about that title?

Me and Yann (previously used the name Nurykabe on the forums) created this game for the No More Sweden 2009 competition! One of our "themes" that we were assigned is "Bootleg", hence the game title. It has nothing to do with the actual R-Type though. Enjoy!

The name is probably a copyright infringement, so I hope nothing bad will happen. Then of course, we couldn't make the entry fit into the "Bootleg" theme while still being legitime.

Okay I'm completely lost

Is 3.141592653589793238469 supposed to be pi with the 21 first decimals? In that case, it's 3.141592653589793238462. A 2 at the end, not a 9. And if it's supposed to be pi in 21 decimals, it's 3.141592653589793238463, a 6 comes after the 2 so you gotta round that up to a 3.

We're not after an approximation of pi here. In the spirit of the game, we're after the number 3.141592653589793238469, that's something different! By this reason, if you should never refer to the game as "R-Type pi" (although "R-Type almost pi" is acceptable).

(Besides, the 9 might have something to do with a clue about how to use the impulse charge)

The game is weird btw. I kinda understand some things, but it's very... spr?nkel.

When I saw the title I was like...
I played it just to try and the game is mad chaos. I will try it later. Well. Epic!

I love the completely messed-upness of this game. It reminds me of something... I'll get back to you when I think of it

In all seriousness, though, this is honestly just about the most addictive game I've played lately.

I think this is the least Nifflas-y Nifflas game ever.

Also I think I saw the word "walrus" in one of the little messages that flash across the screen as the scores "load".

All you really have to do is to use the Boost button as much as possible to gather the powerups, get EXP points, level up to a LVL 46 TOOTHPICK GODESS, then suicide your way back to level 15, then just use the impulse charges and plasma gun like crazy! That way, you'll get enough points to unlock the 3D mode! Press 8 a lot!
