I'll be taking regular snapshots of the NiffWorld server and posting it on my the NiffWorld Forums

I'm not dead. Not entirely. And yes, I'm embarrassed by most of the posts I made here.

WOAH SHI-
My Internet is UBER slow right now (so slow i cant even access the NiffWorld Forums), so the server will probably be down for a couple of hours. hopefully i can sort this out within 12 hours. (it's almost ZZZ time)

Edit: Looks like it was a router issue. hopefully its fixed, testing now

For future occurrences of this problem, could i get one of you to set up a server, with the same preferences as mine (PM me and i'll provide details), and when i have issues i'll Dropbox the map to you? if we could have a backup system like that, it would be epic

ACWL, what version is the server? I noticed that furnaces are still bugged, but this was fixed in an update; The server does not auto-update, you will have to re-download the file.

EDIT: here's a list of currently known bugs that you should be wary of:
Everything is invincible.
Mob spawners always spawn monsters, regardless of what the server says.
Placed fluids will not spread, and will disappear over time. (however, /giving yourself water or lava avoid this)
Grown trees are sometimes glitchy, leafless, or even invisible. (rejoin the server to fix)
Doors can split in half, or not let players pass even when open.
Pressure plates and buttons don't open doors.
Tools can be healed by dropping them and picking them back up.
Boats are invisible to other players, and cannot be recovered.
Seeds may be invisible to others, and unclaimable to you.
Chests:can duplicate or destroy items if you move them around too quickly.
Minecarts and minecart tracks: cause severe client and server lag, to the point of crasing both. DO NOT USE!

Just to let everyone know, ACWL moved the forums to:

http://niffworld.comli.com/index.php

I don't know why though. :P

Woah, that was quick!

I moved them because the old domain had a MySQL database Freak-Out, and corrupted the entire forum. I had to set up a new one, so i figured that i maight as well have it on a slightly more appropriate domain name.

Sorry fot Dbl Post, but this is VERY Important:

Well, yeah. School term starts soon, and my parents don't want me running the server during school. If anyone would be kind enough to step forward to help out on this front, i would be happy to help them set it up, etc. I will also teach whoever it is how to use the server software (it isn't that hard, really)

So yeah, help would be greatly appreciated on this one!

You have one of two options TDO:

1. Reinstall Windows (XP)

2. Use WINE to run your executable files

Oh, and my parents won't let me use it for servers. (And my dad says, "You don't want to run Windows on this." Direct quote.)

I might volunteer, since I've just found out how to get my PC to auto-start at a certain time.
It depends on when the majority of us are online. As said before, the server would always be on be on 09:00~24:00 weekends, and 4:00~11:00 weekdays. This could be extended, but my PC MUST be off for at least 1 hour per 24 hours. (dunno why, but there's a big red sticker down the side warning me of this)

@Everyone: what times are you awake/on minecraft? Please give timezones as well!

I could host when (if) I get a new computer. Although I don't know about 24/7. Also: CEST (UTC/GMT+2), DST ends the end of this month, making it UTC/GMT+1. Is that enough info for you jimj?

Ergh, im in Sydney, Australia, so im on Australian Eastern Standard Time. GMT+10.  :/

Yeah, that basically meas im awake when you guys are asleep, and visa versa. Which makes stuff hard.

On a different note, there have been reports people cant make accounts on the new forum because of some recaptcha bulls**t. anyone else finding this?
Edit: shouldn't be an issue now. call me stupid if you want, but i have removed the recaptcha from the registration page
