[Challenge][Very Hard] Dark Sea

This level is quite obviously based upon AUA, but with a handmade tileset and a quite different setting. The plot is about what occurred before WaDF, in a complex oil plant that Dr. Cliche built.

EDIT: Ugh. There seriously needs to be a save point somewhere in the middle if the switch puzzle.

This is a really cool level, it's like a darker version of AUA. The gameplay is very fun and the atmosphere is really nice, hope to see more from you  C)

Yeah, I bet that's a problem. I'll wait for any more criticisms before I go about changing it first, though.

OK, more save points in some places. That area where you have to dodge spikes while going up by umbrella only to get killed by spikes when you think you're finished is not cool.

You mean the completely strait up path with spikes I tried to make pop-up before you can run into them? Oh well, I probably should add a save right before there anyway.

You did, it's just that it annoyed me initially (beat the level now) because there's like 10 screens before a bloody save point. I dunno, maybe that would make it too easy. It was a very good level, anyway.

I like the tilesets. However, the level itself is too hard. Not, "the level is actually hard"-hard, but more like "the save points are just too far apart"-hard. There are very few screens that are actually tricky on their own, but the long sequences of medium-difficulty screens without save points are irritating. ("Medium" here meaning basically "hard-level".)

The switch puzzle felt frustratingly arbitrary- even after I had finished it (by brute force), it still made no sense to me.
good bye

This is just IMO, it's just an opinion, but to me the switch puzzle was incredibly easy, and there were only one or two things with far apart save points. Really impossibly difficult to someone new at the game but for people who have been beating difficult levels for a while this wasn't too bad. I found some of the screens pretty damn hard but not for lack of save points.

The problem I had with the switch puzzle was that to check whether or not the combination worked, I had to make two jumps which are very easy to screw up.
good bye
