Now that the source is public, I imagine someone with MMF2 would be able to add new sounds. But with normal unmodded KS, no, it's not possible.
good bye

Well, I guess it would work with a double-shift (second one working on touch), with a music type sound in between. I never tried it though

You can make your own shiftsounds by removing the shift sound (set to none) and use a custom sound as music1 when entering the new room. :)

EDIT: I believe this technique is being demonstrated in the Advanced Features Demonstration level by using a door with door sound.

Wouldn't the door sound start again if you left and returned to that screen, though?

EDIT: Oh yeah. Warps.
Lurk more.

that depends. If you flag all the surrounding rooms to have that sound it will not unless you leave the area with these sounds and then return. Alternativelly, you can use a warp in that screen to exit it and if you then return back, you don't get to be in that screen thus the sound doesn't play.

There are ways to get around this problem.

I'm pretty sure the door sound is one of the default shift noises.

Using a wanted sound as music would work, but it'd take up the music slot for that screen, which could be problematic.
good bye

Only if you are already using both ambiance slots, but that is pretty rare.

yeah i had used setting the sound as music "x" but if you want the sound to repeat, like if you use the shift multiple time in the same room, you can't get it to sync up when it replays. i tries using the shift "stop music" too, but that didn't work either. thanks for the help though :)
