Endless- A huge Environmental Level
« on: November 30, 2010, 05:59:20 »
I started work on this a few days ago, because I've been playing a lot of Elder Scrolls, and decided that I should suck a few hundred more hours out of my free time.  C)p Basically, I'm making an enormous environmental level, complete with towns, forests, snow-capped mountains and everything in between. If anyone is interested in helping out (this will take foreeeevar alone) message me.

Many a hand has scaled the grand old face of the plateau,
Some belong to strangers and some to folks you know,
Holy ghosts and talk show hosts are planted in the sand,
To beautify the foothills and shake the many hands.

That screenshot looks pretty good; what tileset did you use for it?

I made it, believe it or not. Unfortunately, the level kinda crashed when I tried to test it earlier, so I scrapped it and started over. I was able to save the tileset though.

Looks good! I hope you make huge cities and huge forests, that'd be nice. Good luck with it!

I loved Morrowind.  And I was working on an idea like this.  You're right though, it takes forever.  I'll probably be done in another 3 years if I keep at it.

My idea was to have areas which are the size of medium / large levels themselves, all connected.  AND The start would ask you a question with 3 choices and depending on which you choose determines where you start in the world.  The idea was to make a level that you could play multiple times but likely never play it the same way twice.

Good luck, man.  Getting help will make the goal a realistic one.
