running knyttstories with wine on mac os x

I'm trying to run knytt stories using wine on my mac, but every time I attempt to install it, it doesn't seem to work.  HELP

Install, as in use the installer?

Try the portable version.  If the problem persists, it'd help to know more about the error.

the error is simply:
 wine: cannot find L"C:\\windows\\system32\\Knytt_Stories_104.exe"

You're not running wine on the correct path; whence and how are you evoking wine upon what path?  I use Linux, and additionally run everything from a terminal emulator, so if you're doing some pointy-clicky thing I have no idea how to help.
