I'm having a rather bizarre problem with the game.  I can start the program and start a game just fine, but the title character is nowhere to be seen.screen cap

Any thoughts on what's happening?

Low video RAM can cause some unexpected selective display like this.  See this topic:

Check the specs of your graphics card.

Drat. That's probably it. My video card is pretty old.

Are the minimum specs for the game listed anywhere?
