Whats this thing used for?

the "`" thing. I dont know what its called, or why its on the keyboard.

I tried punching in google, and it wont show in anything .

An accent grave only appears over top of a letter,  such as in "crème brulez".
The only time this symbol is used by itself is in computer commands, not in grammar.

Spanish words uses "´" instead

I don't think it's a combining character on most keyboards, so it wouldn't have much use as a diacritic.

I think it's the apostrophe.

` = accent grave   (as in è)
' = accent aigu     (as in é)

google their long names to learn about them.
