Why doesn't this forum have a general discussion section? Are there any plans to make one in the future?

There are no plans to add an off-topic/general forum because of how out of hand that kind of forum got here in the past.

Indeed. We're not going to add it again. Instead, we did created some semi-offtopic forums but themed based, like the be creative forums, and the general forums. True, it doesn't leave room open to talk about pokemon and I dunno what else, but seen how bad it got out of control in the past, and how well things are going now, its an easy decision actually.

Also, this question has been asked before, and a more detailed answer has been given in that topic too.

There are only a few active users. I wouldn't think a small forum like this would get out of hand but who knows?

1146 users is very small compared to most forums  - some have close to 100,000.

The amount of users really has no influence in the reasoning behind why we won't do it.

It just takes one user to set a wrong example and another one to follow it.

It happens to have being linked to the age 10-15. We just have a more than average amount of users with that age.

The average age of our active members is above that of other forums, or, at the very least, equal.

I mean the amount of members around age 10-15 is higher than the average on other forums. Maybe some of those are not as active anymore, but I'm certain they'll become active again if there were to be created an offtopic forum.

I set up an unofficial nifflas offtopic board here a while ago. It's not very active, but you may want to check it out :)

People you can fairly easily recognize, unlike all the random people you find by typing in nifflas.ni2.se/forum/index.php?action=profile&u=#
Lurk more.
